Mechanical Technologists support and help prepare engineering designs, drawings and specifications for machines, components and power transmission systems. They conduct tests and analyses of machines, components and materials to determine their performance, strength and response to stress. Mechanical Technicians carry out specific mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components and materials. They also participate in the installation, repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
Education
Graduation from a two or three-year college or technology institute program is usually required for both Mechanical Technicians and Technologists.
